Instructions for running the MRS Demo:
Assuming you have just booted the MRS disk and have double-clicked
on the disk icon to reveal the disk's contents, here's a simple way
to load the MIDI Recording Studio demo files.
While holding the shift key down, click once on the icon named
MRSDEMO.SND, then once on the icon named MRSDEMO.ALL (highlighting
both icons), and finally double-click on the big icon named MRS.
Remember, you should have been holding the shift key down the entire
time. (This is the standard way to tell an AMIGA application started
from the WorkBench that you want it to load some data files.)
The MRS program will start up and automatically load the data files
which were highlighted. The .ALL file contains music for the demo,
and the .SND file contains instrument names and configuration
parameters for the AMIGA's internal sound.
When you see the MRS Play screen, just click on the PLAY button, or
click the right mouse button to start playback. If you don't hear
anything, make sure the AMIGA's audio outputs are connected to your
monitor or your stereo, and that the levels are turned up.
The music will also be sent out the AMIGA's MIDI port so if you have
any MIDI instruments, or a drum machine, you might want to connect
them and set them to the appropriate MIDI channels.
After you've played with the demo for a while, it might be a good
time to read your manual and learn operate the MIDI Recording Studio
program's many features, so you can record some music of your own!!
HAVE FUN!
